SmileHero is being developed to help young patients follow removable appliance wear and bring an objective wear-time history to the appointment.
Appointments show only part of the treatment period. A patient may find it difficult to remember exactly when and how consistently a removable appliance was worn. SmileHero organizes the recorded wear time into a view the patient can bring to the conversation.
The SmileHero chip is developed together with a Finnish technology partner. It is made only for Altiplan and the SmileHero system and is not supplied for other products. The SmileHero app does not work with third-party chips.
The information is shown on the patient’s phone. Dental professionals do not need a SmileHero account, portal or integration. SmileHero does not automatically transfer the patient’s app history to a clinic.
SmileHero may display general targets, but the treating dentist’s individual instructions always take priority. The product is not presented as a diagnostic or treatment-decision tool.
