The SmileHero chip and app are developed as one system. Wear time becomes visible to the user, the character responds to progress and the user can bring the history to an appointment on their own phone.

SmileHero combines a purpose-built chip, a youth-focused app and a character-led feedback loop. The product is designed around the daily behavior that happens between dental appointments.
The chip exists only for SmileHero.
The SmileHero chip is developed together with a Finnish technology partner, exclusively for Altiplan and the SmileHero system. It is not available to other products.
Designed for a specific audience.
The first product is focused on young people aged 8–18 and the adults supporting them. The visual language must work for younger users without feeling childish to teenagers.
Decades of experience.
Behind SmileHero are decades of experience in orthodontics and dental practice, and an equally long background in product design and development. The product combines the clinic’s view of treatment with the everyday life of a young user.
Current work.
SmileHero is in development. Product integration, user experience, privacy work and regulatory assessment are still in progress.
